We take pride in our staff. All of Dance Connections Staff are professional instructors.
They all have college degrees and have performed professionally or are currently performing professionally.

Cherilyn Beanan:Owner/Studio Director brings more then 35 years of experience working with professionals and 25 years of professional experience herself. Born in Las Vegas and raised in California, Cherilyn received her BA in Theater Arts/Dance from San Jose State University and her Drama Teaching Certificate for Ca. from National University.
As a professional dancer, Cherilyn has graced the stages with companies such as Paramount Productions, Princess Cruise Lines, Disney/ABC, Crest, NBC, Kings Entertainment, KQED/PBS, American Musical Theater, San Jose Opera, San Jose Ballet, and Solid Gold Industrial Productions.

Cherilyn’s unique theatrical style has landed her many choreography and director positions. Some of her credits include NBC Television, Horizon Awards, Fairmont Fashion Shows, DeAnza College, Foothill College, West Valley Light Opera, SJ Children’s Musical Theater and Presentation High School. She has trained and danced with such greats as Joe Tremaine, Carol Conners, Bill Prudich, Marie Stinnett, Keith Banks, Pam East, and Tom Hanson.

Cherilyn is a dedicated and gifted teacher/choreographer, she has won numerous awards for her entertaining choreography including Best Choreography, Most Entertaining, many Overall Top 10 routines, and AMT’s Honor Awards for Best Musical Choreography “Jesus Christ Superstar” Many of her students have gone on to dance professionally in New York and Hollywood. Cherilyn wishes to teach Dance Connection students a sense of professionalism, a respect for the art, and a respect for themselves. She believes her students will apply what they learn at Dance Connection to life; including a sense of accomplishment, self-esteem, health, and self-respect. Cherilyn is a proud wife and mother of two beautiful children.

Pendu, whose full name is Kishema Pendu Malik is a professional dancer, choreographer and instructor originally from New York City. She currently resides in Las Vegas, NV, where she was featured Cirque Du Soleil’s production of the Beatles LOVE for the past five and a half years. Pendu’s training spans many styles including Horton, Dunham, Ballet, Graham, Hip Hop, West African, Latin, Dancehall, Jazz, some Funk styles, Capoiera and a little Gymnastics. She continues to train and perform in these areas to complement her choreography and teaching, which she continues to build. To date some of Pendu’s credits as a dancer include Cirque Du Soleil, Cirque Du Soleil Movie “Worlds Away”, Alvin Ailey, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Summer Jam in Los Angeles featuring Mya and Ashanti, NIKE, WNBA/NBA All Star games, Dodgers Baseball games, many fitness commercials and much more. As a choreographer/instructor her services have been used in many conventions, circus schools, dance schools, shows and videos around the world in places such as Brazil, Sweden, Peru, Argentina, South Africa and others. She also choreographed twice for a collaboration between Cirque Du Soleil and Nevada Ballet and two movies that have aired on the Showtime Network. Pendu’s goal is to continue performing for artists, Broadway and Cirque shows as well as becoming a well-known and worldwide choreographer/instructor spreading the joy of dance. She also wants to be known for her unique style of always fusing African with any style of dance. Pendu is also a kinesiology and fitness specialist who holds a BS and MS in Bioengineering and Kinesiology with a Biomechanics emphasis and has presented at international conferences including IADMS (International Association of Dance Medicine and Science) in Singapore in 2012.

Born and raised in the Kansas City area, Dempsey has always had a passion for dance. At ten years old, she began her classical training at Legacy School of the Arts before continuing on to gain her B.F.A. in Dance from The University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music and Dance, where she worked with respected choreographers, including Bernard Gaddis, Jamal Story, Gary Abbott, Sabrina Madison-Cannon, Paula Weber, DeeAnna Hiett, Ronald Tice and Rodni Williams. While attending UMKC, Dempsey performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. with the cast of DeeAnna Hiett’s “Without A Word” for the American College Dance Festival Nationals.She also performed at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts Grand Opening Gala, as well as Kansas City Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”. Dempsey attended programs at Joffrey Ballet School on scholarship, The Ailey School, Deeply Rooted, Ballet Austin and The Jillana School. Dempsey is currently on staff with Sheer Talent Competition

Caitlin is Dance Connection's pride and joy. She has spent her whole life dancing. Twelve of those years were spent on stage in competitive dancing where she obtained various awards and recognition. She has danced for Afro-Sexy, Golden Rainbow, Exposure (showcase), Creative-Objects (showcase), Bead For Life, and performed in the Nutcracker Ballet. Caitlin also choreographs and coaches Company Dance Connection and spends her spare time volunteering at Bilbray Elementary School teaching tumbling.

Yoomi Lee was born in Seoul, Korea and graduated from Sun-Hwa Arts School. She received additional training at the Kirov Ballet Academy in Washington D.C. before going on to dance with the Universal Ballet Company for eleven she danced numerous supporting and lead roles. In 1991, she competed in and earned the Silver medal in the Dong-ah Competition. In 1999 she joined Nevada Ballet Theatre and was promoted to principal dancer in 2003. Now She is the Las Vegas Ballet Company ballet mistress and principal dancer. She was also voted Las Vegas' Best Ballet Dancer 2014

Yoomi's repertories includes [Swan Lake] [Giselle] [Sleeping Beauty] [Nutcracker] [Coppelia] [Scheherazade] [Midsummer Night Dream] and George Balanchine's [Serenade] [Allegro Brilliant] [Who cares?] and many others. She has also danced works by Roy Tobias, Oleg Vinogradov, Bruce Steivel, Peter Anastos, Val Caniparoli, Kathryn Posin, James Jeon.

Marcella Carey began dancing age 3 and has been involved in dance ever since. She received her BA in dance from Butler University. Marcella has performed with the Indianapolis Ballet Theatre in Swan Lake, Les Sylphides, Raymonda, and the Nutcracker. She has also had the privilege to perform with Pittsburgh Ballet, and Starlight Musical Productions. Marcella also toured with the 42nd Street National Tour. Some of her film and television credits include; Leaving Las Vegas, Indecent Proposal, Hearts are Wild, 42nd Street, HBO, Entertainment Tonight, Bob Hope and Bob Newhart Specials. Here in Las Vegas, Marcella has worked with many productions, trade shows and industrials. She is also a certified coach for the Clark County School System, choreographing productions and numbers for CCSD show choirs. In addition to her passion for dance and theater, Marcella spends her time with her family, raising her two children and travelling with them whenever possible. Marcella has been teaching in the Las Vegas Valley for many years. She is a well respected artist.

Kara Kobus began dancing at the age of 5 . She performed in the 2007 Annual Tour Guide Ball, 2007 New York New York Annual Christmas Charity evenst. She has over 10 years teaching experience and has been in the business for over 20 years. She brings joy and professionalism to her Dance Connection students. We are pleased to have Kara on staff.

Christy Rube Heaton an Arizona native, has been dancing professionally for 15 years. Her training includes ballet and pointe at such noted schools as the School of the Cleveland Ballet, BalletMet Dance Academy, the Deane Dance Centre in Sacramento and San Francisco Dance Center. She has danced with several ballet and modern companies, including the James Sewell Ballet in Minneapolis, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Sacramento Ballet and Ricardo Peralto Danza Performa in Tijuana, Mexico. Locally, Ms. Rube has been a dancer in “Jubilee.” She has also recently been a singer/dancer with the “Legends in Concert” show in Seattle. Her teaching and directing experience include instruction in ballet, pointe, modern, variations and conditioning. She has directed the “Nutcracker”, “Twelve Dancing Princesses” and several modern pieces for the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet where she taught previously. She is very excited to share her love of dance with the students here at Dance Connection!

Mic Thompson  has dazzled us by his outstanding dance!  Mic Thomson began dancing at age 10 and at 15 he was named the U.S Ballroom Latin Champion. His career took off as he danced with his favorite recording artists including Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Paula Abdul, Wynona Judd, Vanessa Williams, Tracey Ullman and Jennifer Lopez. Principle dancer of Michael Jackson for 9 Years Choreographer of MJ tribute show “The Ultimate Thriller”.  His Musical Theatre experience climaxed with a NAACP Best Choreography nomination in USA for SWINGING ON A STAR.  He was selected as Choreographer Of The Month for the special Millennium Issue of DANCE SPIRIT MAGAZINE.  The Walt Disney organization has long been a supporter of his choreography career : HERBIE-FULLY LOADED, SANTA CLAUSE 2, MONSTERS INC., and THE EMPEROR'S NEW GROOVE, RATATOUILLE.  In Las Vegas he has choreographed BITE, SOPRANO’S LAST SUPPER, THE MAGIC OF RICK THOMAS and WORLD CHAMPION BALLROOM DANCE TEAM.  On Broadway he has choreographed Broadway musical WESTSIDE STORY, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2,  GOSPEL, GREASE, FOOTLOOSE, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and the X-TREME COUNTRY show.  He also choreographed the new spectacular “BONHEUR” at the LIDO DE PARIS on the infamous CHAMPS ELYSEES.

Zach Saunders is from Columbus Ohio. He is currently performing with Gregg Russell’s Tap Company “Tapsounds Underground”. He has trained with Nathan Trasoras and Steven “Twitch” Boss from So You Think You Can Dance television show. Zach is a powerful Hip Hop dancer and rhythm based tapper with strict training in Hoofing. He recently assisted Michael Rooney and Walter Painter on a new TV show Joseph Gordon Levitt and worked with Tony Danza. His credit’s include: Warner Bros. film Project X, Men of a Certain Age Television show. He has performed with China’s top 5 artist’s in Hunan TV’s Countdown Concert 2012. Zach has been on a world tour with artist Adam Tyler performing in countries such as Sweden, Japan, England and the United States. Zach has taught at various studios in Los Angeles, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, London and Tokyo to name a few. Zach’s choreography is creative and innovative, and as a teacher he approaches every class with a kind heart and constructive eye
